Where's Kathryn

I woke up the other morning to find Kathryn missing from her bed. She usually wakes me up when she gets up in the morning, but I figured she was down watching a movie or playing. So I went to search for her only to find her fast asleep on Tanner's bed. She must have woken up really early and crawled on top of Tanner's bed. She was so comfy and Tanner didn't even know that she was asleep on top of his legs.

Piano Recital

The boys had a piano recital last Wednesday to perform their federation pieces. Tanner played "Victory Bells" and "Big Black Bear". He did an awesome job and was great at having them both perfectly memorized and tried very hard to keep the rhythm and dynamics correct. I was so proud of him.

Robbie played "Jazzy" and "Sand Dunes". He struggled a little on his rhythm and had one spot where he forgot a few notes, but he still did a great job. He is practicing very hard in order to have the two pieces completely ready for federation on Friday. I am so glad that my boys enjoy piano and are willing to work hard at it.

Ski Day

We went skiing with friends in the neighborhood and the boys had a blast!! The weather wasn't great as it was windy, snowy and very cold. I enjoyed the weather as there where no lines and great snow. We had a ton of fun and my boys are excited to go with there buddies again some time.

Also this great friend offered to have all 5 of our kids come over for a movie night after skiing so that Rob and I could go out. I was so grateful to get a little break and reconnect with the hubby. I am realizing that we need more one on one time. It was a great day!!!

Safe kids Fair

We went to the safe kids fair last weekend and met up with some old friends. It was so good to see these wonderful friends, it had been three years. It reminded me how much I miss them and also that I need to get out of the house more with the girls. I am hoping that we will be able to get together more often.

When dad's away the kids will play

Rob went to Youth conference a couple of weekends ago and so the rest of decided to have ourselves a little fun. Friday night we made cookies and played games. The kids had a blast and Emme loved her first cookie!! Kathryn loved being able to play with the big kids and didn't want to go to bed when the time came. After the girls went to bed the boys and I played more games and ate way to many cookies. It was a ton of fun and I love that my boys are old enough to play games with me.

On Saturday I asked the kids what they wanted to do, I wanted to get out of the house. They just wanted to walk to the school and play on the playground. It was nice that we could get out and play. Wes loved being able to play at the school with his brothers. I attempted taking a few pictures of Emm but she was to interested in eating rocks to even look at the camera. We all had a great time and the girls napped extremely well when we got home.

When Rob finally got home we ended up having subs for dinner and then watching a movie as a family. It was a great weekend and I loved spending the time with my kids minus the stresses of homework, etc. It was nice to be the fun parent for once.

Tidbits (not in order)

Kathryn caught Emme's cold and was miserable with a horrible cough that kept us up all night.
We survived Rob going on his first business trip. To be honest my kids where better behaved and I got a ton done. But I would rather have him home, I like the support. He works a lot and the company is doing well, yeah!

Valentines Day was very low key as usual. I'll be honest it is not my favorite day. Personally I think we need to spend the whole year telling our spouses and family how much we love them. The kids loved the day and had a great time getting ready for their class parties. Rob was a sweetheart heart and brought Chinese home for dinner and then we watched a movie.

Finally tried a pinterest treat. It was a huge hit. Kathryn especially loved them and kept asking for more.
We had lots of laughs, not sure how these boys manage to constantly crack themselves up. They think they are hilarious.
My Grandmother came and took the girls and I out to lunch for my birthday. It was so nice to visit and I loved that Kathryn ate up all the extra attention.
I celebrated my 30th birthday. Wasn't very exciting as sick kids made for a hard day. I was able to take a nap and I love all the family that came to visit.
Emme was super tired after having so many sleepless nights that she finally fell asleep on the floor.
Kat was her busy self. She loves jumping on my bed, the naughty girl.
Watched a little basketball with the guys.
Emme got her first ear infections and was miserable. She got a nasty cold that went straight to her ears, poor girl.

9 months

Weight: 18 lbs(33%)
Height: 28.15 inches(70%)

Emme is doing really well. She does have a bad cold that gave her two ear infection but other than that the doctor says she looks great. She is always happy, smiles a ton and loves to eat. She eats almost everything and I love that she will feed herself most of the time. She has mastered the army crawl and is moving pretty fast. She can now roam the house in search of mom, and she does. She actually headed to the bathroom yesterday and then tried to pull herself up on the side of the tub, I think she wanted to take a bath. She is sitting up on her own and is starting to try and pull at her toys so that she can stand, luckily this she hasn't mastered yet. She discovered her tongue a couple days ago and plays with it during meal times. She says dada a lot and is starting to say mama a little more often. She likes to shake her head no when asked questions. She thinks that she is so big. I am so grateful for this little lady, and the joy that she brings to our lives.

On the move

Emme is starting to move. She is doing the army crawl which is more of a scoot. She is a lot happier now that she can get to what she wants. Kathryn doesn't love it as Emme is constantly trying to take Kathryn's stuff away. I am glad that she is still really slow moving and usually stays in one room. Emme has also learned to sit up by herself. It is so nice that she no longer screams at me until I sit her up. I am a little sad that my baby is getting so big so fast.

Tanner's Program

Tanner had his grandparent's program and had a ton of fun singing and dancing. He got to be the millionaire in the Gilligan's Skit. He had a cute little partner and they seemed to be having so much fun dancing and singing. I love how laid back and silly Tanner is. When it was time for the kids to dance with their parents Tanner came over and grabbed Kathryn. He was so sweet dancing with her and showing her to all of his friends. I just love how wonderful he is with his sisters. It was a great program and a lot of fun to watch.
