Birthdays

Westin's birthday was on the 13th and Robbie's was on the 18th. We decided to take the boys ice skating for the first time, as part of their party. We invited most of the family and everyone had a blast. Robbie and Tanner where able to move away from the wall and skate by themselves towards the end. Westin just thought it was fun to have Dad or Mike push him around the rink. The boys surprised me and were a lot tougher than I expected. They fell quite a lot, but just managed to keep going.

After ice skating we went to Rob's parents for pizza, cake, ice cream, and of course presents. Westin wanted a batman cake and Robbie voted for a ninja turtle cake. Each birthday I try to make exactly what type of cake they want, so far no one has been disappointed. The boys loved everything they got and all in all had a great party.

Tummy Update

8 months

I know I'm a little late, but it has been a little crazy and blogging seems to be a low priority these days. I am feeling really good, except when I spend to much time on my feet, or sit to long. I have gotten some lovely veins that tend to make my leg ache if I over due it, but it is manageable and we don't have that much longer to go.

Finally Done

So I finally finished my little sisters quilt, which was started forever ago.
I have to admit that I am very pleased on how it turned out. It is a little hard to tell but the flower pattern is really pretty. She was very excited to finally have it and I am just glad to be done, it turned out that it took a lot longer then I expected and it was a beast to try to sew the ruffle and back on. It is a lot of fabric and really heavy. It is most likely the last puff quilt I will ever make.

Thanksgiving

We had Thanksgiving dinner at Rob's mom's. It was a smaller group than usual, with half the family away. The dinner was delicious and the cousins had a blast playing together. After dinner we sat around and visited with the neighbors, who, in our book are family; it was great to see them. Right before we left Gibba's, Rob's mom, she gave the boys their new ornaments to put on the Christmas tree.
The next day I got up at 4:45 to go to Walmart. Thank goodness it was only for one item! I now know why I have never done the Black Friday thing. When all the kids got up we spent the morning decorating the house. I have to admit I only put up about half of our stuff. All in all it was a great thanksgiving weekend and we are so grateful for all that we have, especially our family.

Thanksgiving morning we headed to my mom's for breakfast. We had a great breakfast casserole, cinnamon rolls and juice. The boys were glad to spend the morning with the grandparents. Rob and I were glad not to have to rush off to another place to eat. The boys played checkers with Walt's dad and we all enjoyed a peaceful morning.

Westin Update

Ok, so Wes had his stitches put in on Friday, well on Sunday night has we are getting ready for bed Robbie and Rob where sword fighting(why I'm not quite sure). Well as Westin and I walked in the bedroom Robbie brought the sword back hitting Wes in the eyebrow. The tears and blood started flowing and when I finally got the blood to stop we noticed that three of the six stitches had popped. So I sent Rob and Wes to the urgent care and the doctor decided that she would just try terry stripping them because it was going to be to hard to restitch after it had already started healing.

Well this morning when I went downstairs to get the kids going, I noticed that the three strips where gone. I started looking closer and noticed that two of the stitches where also missing. So of course Rob and I start questioning Westin on what happened where are your stitches, etc. Well Wes proceeded to tell us that he had pulled the strips off and then pulled out the two stitches. So now there is only one stitch left and I am pretty sure he is going to have one heck of a scare. Good thing he is a boy!

Stitches

Well on Friday as I was running errands all by myself (it was quit and peaceful), I got a phone call from Westin's preschool. I was told on the phone that Westin had hit is head and was probably going to need stitches. So I left my errands undone ran to school, to get Westin. As I was looking at the cut in his eyebrow his teacher proceeded to tell me what exactly happened.
Apparently when everyone was sitting in their circle on the floor Westin felt the need to show everyone his awesome jump spin. He hit is head on the table and split the eyebrow wide open. He was very brave and even through his tears told his teach that it was a good jump spin.

We headed to the doctors office to await the stitches. I have to say that this was the most impressive wound that the boys have acquired so far. The doctor a friend of ours quickly got things moving for us. Westin amazed everyone in the office(people kept giving him treats and toys) he did not shed one tear and held perfectly still. So he ended up with 7 stitches and probably a great scar to add to the others.
After three days he has some what of a black eye, and complains only when he raises his eyebrows. But he thinks it looks cool and tough. He is such a character.
I sometimes wonder how I'm going to manage all the wounds that come with three boys. We have already had one gluing, two staples, three stitches and a broken arm. Everyone but Tanner seems to be accident prone. Thank goodness I have one mellow boy.

7 months

Ok, so I know that I am now almost half way through my 7th month, but this picture was taken at the 7 month mark. We just had some issues with our internet, so I was unable to post it when I took it.

Halloween

The Boys went as Ninja's this year and loved fighting each other with their very loud, and annoying swords. We went to Rob's work party and the kids got a ton of candy. Then we made stops at several families' homes before going to our family Halloween party. The boys were so tired by the time we were done that Wes fell asleep in the car. They did go to a few houses on our street but didn't last long. So we watched Charlie Brown and then fell in bed. I have to admit I am enjoying all the candy; I'm just worried that by the time it's gone I will have gained ten pounds.

We had a lot of fun last weekend in Moab. We went down for the pumpkin chucking festival. The boys loved watching the pumpkins fly through the air. They also enjoyed all the activities they had for the kids. While we were down there we went hiking, the boys saw the dinosaur prints, and the pictographs. On the way out we went to Arches and enjoyed the beautiful weather. The boys thought the arches were amazing and loved hiking. Their favorite arch was Sand Dune Arch, they had to run down and eventually started rolling down the sand. The boys had so much fun!

Westin's Big Ouch

Westin was running last Saturday as we were leaving Rob's parents and tripped. He hit his head so hard on the dinning room hutch that it even made Rob crinch. Luckily it didn't bleed much but he got a huge goose egg. Luckily a bandaid always makes things better. A week later and he still has a little bump and a nasty bruise.

Clown Day

Robbie had clown day at school this week and was so excited on Tuesday when a real clown came and painted his face and gave the kids all the secrets about being a clown.

The next day he was very particular about how he wanted to look for his clown party. I'm so glad that he is not afraid to dress up and have fun.

New nephew

September 24 2008
Samuel Bryce
6lbs 10 oz
20inches

Robbie was excited to see his new cousin. He immediately wanted to hold him and seem to know exactly what to do, he was even rocking him back and forth. Tanner was a little more timid but he did great holding the new baby.
Wes was determined to do it all by himself, and was mad when I helped him hold the baby.
I think they are going to be great with a new baby, and they are getting more and more excited for a baby girl.

Campout

Ok so I know this is a little late, but I had to share some of the pictures from our ward campout.

Tanners first experience roasting his own marshmellow, hmmm so good! (he did try to eat them)

Wes had a lot better luck roasting his marshmellows, they where close to perfect.

Robbie just liked playing with the fire. (I wonder where he gets that from)

My favorite time when they are sleeping.(Just kidding)

Rob trying to stay warm. (loved this picture, he is so weird)

Tanner's Tooth

Well Tanner didn't take long on catching up to Robbie, he lost his first tooth yesterday during lunch.

"Mom I lost my tooth"

"Where is it?"

"I don't know"

So needless to say after I went through the food he spit out, and looked every where else I asked "Did you swallow it?"

"I don't know, I think so"

So the poor kid swallowed his first lost tooth and had nothing to put under his pillow. He is still very excited and had to call the whole family.

Ultrasound

We had our ultrasound on Thursday, and everything is looking great. The baby is the perfect size and measuring right on for January 30th. The tech could not get the little bugger to uncross their legs so she had to have the Doctor come in to see if he could get the baby to move. After a whole lot of painful poking and pressure(yes i almost peed my pants) the baby moved and we are excited to say we are having a GIRL!!! We have had big grins for last couple of days, and already have a few pink items hanging in the closet. Now we just have to decide on a name.

Preschool

Tan andWes with Miss Tiffany

Tanner and Westin started preschool last week, and are both very excited to go together. This is Tan's second year and Westin's first. Westin was so excited that it is the only thing that he has talked about all week. The best part of preschool is that I now have 2 1/2 hours all to my self. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do.

First Day of School

Well it is official, I have a first grader. Robbie is very excited and has loved school so far. He is a much happier kid when he is in school. The other boys have enjoyed Robbie being gone, there is a lot less fighting and they play well together. The only problem is that my house is now too quite and I do have to admit that I miss a little, the day is just so long.

More exciting news for Robbie is that he has finally lost his first tooth. I feel bad though because the tooth fairies were not on top of things, he slept with the tooth under his pillow for two days. He was happy when he finally got his money. A week later his lost another tooth, and mom lost the tooth. Hopefully I can get the hang of this tooth business.

Another Cabin Trip

The whole family headed to the cabin last weekend, yes dad was able to come. We had a lot of fun and worked hard as well. We chopped down two trees(lucky no one was hurt) then we had to chop and carry all the wood to the wood box. I was so happy with my boys they were such good little workers, carrying and hauling wood. Dad helped fix the deck as well, now it's a little safer.

The boys went on the four wheelers with dad. They went on a few hikes and Grandad even made them swords out of wood. They love being up there and being able to do about anything. The boys even got to drive the car, we only had a little off roading. We had a lot of fun.

Tanner's Birthday

Tanner is a lucky kid because when you have 4 sets of grandparents it means a lot of celebrating for your birthday. Tanner wanted to go to chuck e cheese for his little party with the grandmas, so we all had pizza and watched dad cheat at the games. It was a lot of fun for the kids.

Oh, and if you see a pink flamingo in our yard it was one of Tanner's presents. He couldn't decide what he wanted so Papa and Grandma Bonnie where teasing that they would get him a pink flamingo. So with a lot of laughs he put it in the front yard and loves it. Gee thanks, Papa! He did get other gifts put the Flamingo was the most unusual.
