School has started

The boys started school today!!  I can't believe that summer is over and that these boys are getting as old as they are.  Robbie was not excited to start school, Tanner didn't really care that much and Wes was super excited.  They each got to get a few new shirts and of course Gibba took them to pick out their new shoes.  Shoe shopping with Gibba is one of the boys highlights of going back to school.  She lets them get pretty much which ever shoes they want.  Robbie was so picky this year that we finally let him order them online, and are just hoping that they fit right.  The boys where even picky about their haircuts this year, no more buzz cuts for us.  Hopefully we will have an amazing year.

Westin  2nd Grade

He is back at Draper doing the Dual Immersion program and loves it.  He loves learning Chinese and only lost a little this summer.  He is very pleased with his teachers Ms. Lee and Ms. Watts.  He is glad to have a lot of friends in his class from last year.  He is also very glad to have someone to carpool with this year, a neighbor has just started the program and Wes has already offered him help if he needs it.  I am so glad that he loves school.

Tanner 3rd Grade

Tanner is super excited for his teacher Mrs Law because we have heard nothing but good things and she has a fish tank in the class.  I heard about all the fish and their names the first day.  He has lots of friends from last year in his class and even one girl that has been in every class with him since kindergarten.  He came home very excited and ready to start the routine of school and homework.  He is so mellow and so I am glad that he came home happy and ready for the new year.

Robbie 5th Grade

Robbie was not enthused about school but came home pretty happy.  His teacher is Mrs McDonald and I am hoping that we have a great last year.  I can't believe that this is his last year in elementary, 6th grade will move to the middle schools next year and so I am hoping to old on to y little boy for just a little longer.  He was a little disappointed that none of his close friends where in his class, but I am hoping he can really put him self out there and make new ones.  Hopefully we wont be to overwhelmed with the work load this year and have a fun year. (He is already excited for his state report)

SO STRONG

Kathryn is obsessed with being strong lately.  She is constantly carrying heavy things around and announcing to everybody that she is "so strong".  We of course love her strong face and always giggle.  Love this girl!!

Timpanogos Cave

Thursday we decided to hike up to Timpanogos Cave.  We packed a lunch and headed up.  The kids love to hike so this was one of the highlights of the summer.  The boys loved learning a little more about caves and caving.  Kathryn did awesome and hiked almost the whole way.  Emme and I got off easy as Grandad offered to pack her up.  Sydney did not love this hike, she was super tired and ornery so needless to say had a rough hike up.  She did cheer up on the way down and I hope she had fun. After our hike we had a snack and Grandad taught all the kids how to spit off a bridge.   It was a lot of fun!!

Herriman Beach

Wedneday we headed with the Dixon side of the family to the little Harriman Beach to just let the kids play and get all their energy out.  The kids had a blast playing in the water and having a water fight.  The older kids built castles and made rivers and the little girls got a long so well.  It was a ton of fun and next summer we need to go more often.

After the beach we headed back to the house for dinner.  The boys got to sleepover  and all the kids had a great time jumping on the tramp.  The girls loved getting in Nana's big tub for a bath.  It was a fun time and made the boys even more excited for when the cousins move back.

Swimming

We have gone swimming at our Aunt Corrie's a couple of times this month and the kids have had a blast.  Her little boys love playing with my big boys and all of our kids are fishes.  We finished our swim sessions with lunch and then went home for nap time.  It is always fun to spend time with cousins.
