Trip to Atlanta

I was able to go and see my brother in Atlanta last week. My sister Jennie and I got buddy passes and spent all day Tuesday trying to get out of the airport. After several long hours we finally made on a plan to Austin and then caught another flight to Atlanta. The plane ride was difficult as my growing belly made it very uncomfortable. We got in late Tuesday and where so excited to David!! We got some dinner and then headed to his place to crash.

On Wednesday we all slept in and then headed to downtown Atlanta. We did a little shopping and had some great Mexican food. We then headed to get some grocery and hung out at home visiting and watching TV.

Thursday we went to the Natural History Museum. It was a blast!! We then went to Cheesecake Factory and ended up doing more shopping. We then got some dessert at a little cafe. We went back home and visited even more. It is so good to actually be able to reconnect, and spend time together.

Friday we did nothing!! I mean nothing, we sat around in Pj's forever, played games and made breakfast burritos for dinner. David's girlfriend Jen had to go to work so the siblings just sat around, talked, and got packed for our early morning the next day.

Saturday was another airport day, wondering if we would make it home. Luckily we made on the first flight to Houston and then we got first class to Salt Lake. Which was heaven as I could actually stretch my legs out. It was good to come home and see the family. I felt so bad that I had left them all sick with Rob. Plus with sheet rockers at my house and a pack meeting Rob had his hands full. He was a good sport and help down the fort. Thank you David and Jennie for the fun trip! Thank you Rob for handling the home front, you where awesome!

A day on the Farm

The boys had the opportunity to go with their Aunt Jess to the Ching Farm. Jess is involved in the Vet Tech Program at her school and part of that is going and helping take care of the animals at the farm. They got to help groom and run a horse, see the pigs, goats and all the other fun animals. Wes got headbutted by one of the goats and almost lost his pants. They where filthy but had a blast. Thank You Nana and Jessica for the great day!!!

Homemade Pizza

The kids love to make homemade pizza! I always have lots of helpers when we make pizza and the pizza is always so much tastier.

Piano Recital

Robbie had a Piano Recital Wednesday to help prepare for federation. He was nervous as he was being judge by his teacher and he took the whole event very serious. He did a great job and only has a few things that he needs to practice and fine tune before the actual federation. It was a blast to watch as he got very involved in his music. He played two pieces, Spider vs. Fly and Victory Bells. I couldn't download the videos as they were to big. Sorry!!

Creative Pursuit

The group and there invention "The Super Shovel". It had wheels and a container for rock salt in the back. (Minus one girl who had to leave for an appt.)

Tanner and I had the opportunity to be involved in an extra school activity called Creative Pursuit. A group of 5 students from his class were chosen to take time out of class, invent something, and then present it in front of judges. This little activity started back in November and after lots of glitches was finally finished on Wednesday. His group went against other groups, presented and won! We were so surprised when the kids won first place in the invention and then won first again overall. The kids had a lot of fun and I am relieved to have this little stress out of my life. I am so proud of Tanner especially since he hates getting up in front of people and speaking, he did awesome.

Valentines Day

Kathryn loved the idea of getting little Valentines!

Valentines day was very low key for us, as it is not my favorite holiday. I tend to think it is over commercialized and that as a couple we should celebrate each other every day and not have to worry about getting over priced items on Valentines.

Anyway, the boys went skiing with Papa and I got to go to lunch with my Grandmother. Later I went with my mom to check out wedding dresses, so much fun. She found one that is gorgeous. That night after getting home later than expected Rob made grilled cheese, kids finished homework and we all ended up in bed early. We are so lame!!

Birthday

Well I turned 29 on Friday. We spent the day doing normal mom activities which included helping with the kindergarten valentines party. After school a good friend brought lunch over. It was nice to sit and visit. When Rob got home we took the kids to my moms for a sleep over and then headed to dinner. We ended up renting two movies and watching those when we got home. It was really nice to just sit and relax and not worry about putting kids to bed, etc. Oh and the best news I actually got a really good nights sleep. It was nice to just spend time with Rob and visit, it has been way to long since it was just us for a night. It was a great birthday and I am grateful for all the wonderful family that I have.

House Update

So the basement project is moving a lot slower then Rob anticipated. I have let him know it needs to be done before the baby comes. So what has been done is that the bathroom is framed and ready for tile prep and sheet rock. We are having some one else do the tile prep and hopefully the sheet rock as well. The hall ceiling is framed and ready for sheet rock. The family room has been wired. We are hoping to get a few more things done tonight and I am calling on a bid for sheet rock. Then I will have to start painting and tiling, we are hoping things will move faster from here, as I am officially sick of remodeling and I'm not doing a whole lot of work.
