Life with Kathryn

Kathryn has been extremely trying lately. I am not sure it is all her or if a lot of it has to do with the lack of energy and patience I have for dealing with her delightful three year old self. This week started out slow with Kathryn deciding that our indoor plant needed a trim, she took the scissors to it three days in a row. I hide the first pair of scissor but lucky for me she found another pair. Later she went and found the boys toothpaste and got it everywhere. It was on the wall, piano, couch and of the poor plant. Then after not being able to find another pair of scissors she found the tape. The tree got tape all around it, I guess she wanted to make sure it stayed together. She does all of this while I take 5 to 10 minutes changing Emme's diaper, getting her a bottle or putting her down for a nap.

I will say that she has been an awesome sharer lately. She makes sure that when she gets herself some dog food that Emme and Charlie get some as well. Then when I rush over to take it out of Emm's mouth both girls laugh at me, they think it is soooo funny. It can't taste good, can it? She also like to help herself into any food in the fridge. She can polish off a whole apple with out any help cutting or washing it. I am about ready for a lock on my fridge, who knows maybe it will keep me out of it as well.

She has also been a little rougher with everyone. She pushes Emme over when ever she doesn't want her near her. She also hit Tanner over the head with her bunny rock. She bit Emme in the grocery store and is constantly tackling her brothers. Needless to say she has spent a lot of time in time out lately.

Another problem that I have had is the fact that she has decided to that going to the bathroom in the great outdoors is more fun than on the toilet. She has come in three times proud as can be announce that she went to the bathroom on the lawn. I was not to happy about this and had to explain that we use the potty not the grass. I guess she will be ready for some serious camping when she gets older.

All that being said today she was a total angel. She was sweet with everyone, she shared with Emme, tried to take care of her brothers and let me listen to conference. She is truly a joy and full of energy and has a huge personality. She always has funny things to say, loves to dance and sing and is always ready to have a good time. I just wish that she would still take naps so that I could a least have a few minutes to catch my breath.

Scouts

At pack meeting this last month Robbie earned a few badges in Webelos and finely finished his Religious knot. He was super excited to get his religious knot and I was happy that we finally got everything done.

Silly Gils

Kathryn has started to pose for the camera and so I get some really funny shots of her. She especially loves to make goofy faces and then check them out of the camera. She is always going cross eyed and always gets the desired laughs that she wants. She has so much personality and I love being able to capture a few of the silly moments with the camera. She is such a funny girl!!

Emme has been a lot of fun lately and seems to be getting big really fast. She has started to crawl normal, but still opts for the army crawl when she needs to move fast. She has started to pull herself up to standing and really thinks she is pretty cool. The only problem is that she doesn't like to hold on for long and ends up tumbling to the ground. She loves to stick her tongue out, has started to blow kisses and her favorite thing to do is put things into other things. She spends hours taking things out and then putting them back in. She is so fun to have around.

Dinner at the Dixon's

Emme was all laughs!
Kat loved dancing while we played the WII.
The boys got to try the kite. Tan ended up face planting and being dragged on the ground.
We all played the WII and enjoyed some good laughs, especially when Grandad started dancing.
Seriously, mom can you help me down. Nope I need to take more pictures of you getting mad at me.
The kids loved playing with Grandad and his kite.
Kat wore butterfly wings most of the afternoon.
Emme loved being outdoors and hanging with Auntie Caitlin.
Kids loved jumping on the tramp.
Emme kept herself happy by going through moms purse, and she was super happy even without a nap.

Last time skiing

Today we went skiing for what is most likely the last time of the year. It was great weather and we had a fun time. Walt and I took the boys up in the morning. The snow was a little icy at first, then it was great but quickly turned slushy and awful. The boys had a great time hitting all the jumps and wanted to make sure I was able to get pictures. My mom came up later in the afternoon and brought the girls so that we could barbecue in the parking lot. The kids loved it and said it was the best hot dog ever. Kathryn really loved coming up and playing in the snow. Emme watched all the skiers and was her delightful self as always. We had a great day!!!

Orchestra

Robbie had another orchestra performance this week, it was a cowboy theme. All of the girls dressed up and the boys just stuck with their jeans and t-shirts. They sounded a lot better this time and Robbie seemed to be really enjoying the songs and playing. I am so proud of him for sticking with it and getting up early three days a week. Good Job, Robbie!

St. George

This last weekend the boys had Friday off so we headed to St. George with friends. Bryan was nice enough to get us condos through his time share. All the kids had a bed and enjoyed having their own space away from the adults. The kids where great on the way down. On Friday we went and visited Rob's grandma and then saw Tina at work. The kids where super excited to surprise grandma at work and where very disappointed that we didn't get to spend time with her. We also hit the store for food and then Bry and Rob headed to the golf course to play nine holes.

While the guys golfed the kids and I let the girls nap, and then headed to the playground and basketball court to get some energy out. The kids all enjoyed the amazing weather and I had a fun day with the kids.

Later that evening the rest of the crew came and we spent the night eating yummy food, playing games, and watching movies.
Saturday we went for a nice little hike and let the kids go wild. My boys love hiking and bouldering on rocks. We saw lots of lizards and every one enjoyed the hike. Kathryn did a great job hiking and only spent a little time getting a piggyback ride.

That afternoon the men headed for the golf course again and spent the rest of the day golfing. We let the kids nap and then headed to the pool for a swim. The kids loved swimming we only wish it had been a tad warmer.

After the men got back we let the kids go to the club house and play arcade, ping pong and pool. Then we let everyone have ice cream, watch a movie and then bed. It was a late night and everyone was exhausted.

Sunday we headed home, the kids where again super good travelers. Thanks for the weekend Bryan!
