Life with Kathryn

Kathryn has been extremely trying lately. I am not sure it is all her or if a lot of it has to do with the lack of energy and patience I have for dealing with her delightful three year old self. This week started out slow with Kathryn deciding that our indoor plant needed a trim, she took the scissors to it three days in a row. I hide the first pair of scissor but lucky for me she found another pair. Later she went and found the boys toothpaste and got it everywhere. It was on the wall, piano, couch and of the poor plant. Then after not being able to find another pair of scissors she found the tape. The tree got tape all around it, I guess she wanted to make sure it stayed together. She does all of this while I take 5 to 10 minutes changing Emme's diaper, getting her a bottle or putting her down for a nap.

I will say that she has been an awesome sharer lately. She makes sure that when she gets herself some dog food that Emme and Charlie get some as well. Then when I rush over to take it out of Emm's mouth both girls laugh at me, they think it is soooo funny. It can't taste good, can it? She also like to help herself into any food in the fridge. She can polish off a whole apple with out any help cutting or washing it. I am about ready for a lock on my fridge, who knows maybe it will keep me out of it as well.

She has also been a little rougher with everyone. She pushes Emme over when ever she doesn't want her near her. She also hit Tanner over the head with her bunny rock. She bit Emme in the grocery store and is constantly tackling her brothers. Needless to say she has spent a lot of time in time out lately.

Another problem that I have had is the fact that she has decided to that going to the bathroom in the great outdoors is more fun than on the toilet. She has come in three times proud as can be announce that she went to the bathroom on the lawn. I was not to happy about this and had to explain that we use the potty not the grass. I guess she will be ready for some serious camping when she gets older.

All that being said today she was a total angel. She was sweet with everyone, she shared with Emme, tried to take care of her brothers and let me listen to conference. She is truly a joy and full of energy and has a huge personality. She always has funny things to say, loves to dance and sing and is always ready to have a good time. I just wish that she would still take naps so that I could a least have a few minutes to catch my breath.

Amen with the naps! Holy cow, she keeps you busy! Gotta love the terrible 3's, huh? Good thing she's so cute. :)

I had a really rough morning with Brynlee today, so thanks for writing this!! :) Glad to know Brynlee is not the only psychotic 3 year old around here. Makes you really enjoy the moments their sweet self shines through, so you can make it through the rest of the day!
