Spring Break

For spring break this year we headed south to visit Grandma Tina and Grandpa Karl. Rob had to work most of the week so the kids and I headed down Monday morning. We took are time getting there and had a nice stop for lunch. We even stopped at Cove Fort to check it out.

The boys really enjoyed Cove Fort and enjoyed listening to the Older Missionary there. They wanted to make sure that they got to see every room and hear about all of the things within the rooms. They especially liked looking at the telegraph machine. The girls where just glad to be out of the car and being able to move around a little.

On Tuesday we woke up had a big breakfast and then Grandpa and I took the kids too Pioneer Park while grandma went to work. The kids loved climbing all over the rocks and we all enjoyed the wonderful weather.
Emme was a great sport and enjoyed spending time with Grandpa.

My boys are mountain goats and love to go everywhere.

Kathryn was a little nervous at first but quickly started enjoying her self, luckily for me she didn't have any desire to hike or climb as high as the boys. She mostly enjoyed laying in the dirt, picking up rocks and being her wild self.

While Emme napped the kids tried out the pool. It was a little too cold for me but the kids didn't seem to care. They had a great time hanging out. After Emme woke up we headed to the community center to swim and see Uncle Alec while he worked. The boys had a great time playing with Grandpa in the pool. Emme had fun playing on the lawn chairs, she wouldn't go in the water. Kat loved the freedom and had a great time until she dropped from exhaustion.

In the evening we had a great dinner and watched movies. The boys love staying up late and watching movies with the family.

On Wednesday we spent the day by the pool. The kids had a great time. Emme didn't swim as it was still a little to cold for her liking. She just hung out until nap time. We spent the entire day outside and we all got burned. I so enjoyed the warmth and loved not having to entertain the kids. Plus it is so nice to have the pool in the backyard so that Emme could nap and we could all just relax.

Kat loves her Uncle(first crush)!

Thursday Rob decided to drive down as the flights didn't look great. We are glad that he drove as he would not have made it on the buddy pass. After Rob got down we started some Easter festivities with the cousins. The kids had so much fun and loved all of the activities that Grandma planned.

Grandma bought all the stuff to have the kids dye Easter Eggs. The kids loved it and had a really great time make all sorts of eggs. The boys where big helps with the younger kids and I think my nephews loved having their older cousins hang out with them.

We had a delicious barbecue and enjoyed visiting with Corrie and the boys. It was great to have most of us there to spend time together as a family.

We had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. The boys where only disappointed because there where no eggs hidden in the pool. It was great to watch the older kids help and try to make it more fun for the little kids. The kids where all excited about their new sand pales and hope we get to use them at Bear Lake this year.Grandma had a pinata for the kids. It was to windy to do it outside so the men worked out a great system in order to do it inside. Nobody wanted to just hold it. Which was probably wise as the older boys had some real force behind their swings. Tanner took it out on his second swing on his second turn, it just exploded. It was very entertaining for all of the adults to watch.

We tried again to get a good picture of all the kids. Thinking that this will not happen until they are all a little older.
Later that night we hung out and the boys played on all of Grandpa's toys. They love being able to ride the four wheeler and motorcycle.

On Friday Tina and I headed for a girls day which included pedicures, manicures and a little shopping. It was great to get a little break and be pampered for a little while. It was also nice to be able to talk to Tina.

While we where out the men had their own adventures. They took the kids to pioneer park to climb and the rocks and crawl through "dixie's crack" (narrows). The kids had a lot of fun and enjoyed having all of their dad's attention. Kathryn and Emme where good sports and had a fun playing int he dirt. After the park Grandpa bought the kids kites and they head to a school close by to fly them. Kathryn had a blast flying her first "pink princess" kite.

On Saturday we mostly packed up and started getting ready to head home. We did find a little bit of time to go and see Rob's Nana. She was so excited to see the kids. I am so glad that we where able to go and spend a little bit of time with her. I think it meant a lot to her, and I think it is important for our kids to meet our grandparents and know how much they mean to us. While I was loading the car the kids spent some time doing a project with their Uncle Alec and Kathryn even spent a little time in the pool.

We made it home fast and had plenty of room for the kids to spread out as we had to two cars. I will say that I think that my ride was a little more stressful than Rob's as Tan had to deal with two unhappy little girls. Once the girls fell asleep it was much easier and I was glad that we made it home in only 4 hours including one stop for dinner and gas.
