Potty Update

I am a little worried to put this in print for fear that things will get worse but we have gone over a week now with no accidents. I still put a diaper on Kathryn at night because lately she wakes up very wet. During the day the only battle we have is which undies to wear. She is getting very good at telling me when she needs to go potty even when we are out running errands. She even managed to make it inside one day while she was out playing with friends. I am so proud of her but I spend more time than I want sitting on the tub watching her go potty. She loves having dad home because he still makes a big deal about going on the potty. Hopefully she will keep up the good work especially after the baby is born.

Sick, Sick, Sick

Well Robbie is finally better and back to school, but now Tanner and Kathryn both have fevers. They aren't coughing that much but the fevers are enough to make life miserable. Kathryn is very hard when she is sick as she wants to be held all day. My house is a mess and I haven't been able to do a lot on the basement. I am hoping that the kids will be better soon so that we can really crank on the house. I am starting to feel a little sick but hopefully I can manage to hold it off. We are all looking forward to better weather and better health.

Tubes again

Robbie had a ENT appointment today and I didn't want to cancel even though he has a cold and cough. The new ENT took a look at his ears, took all his history, and then Robbie had a few hearing test done. The result is that Robbie's ears are still filled with fluid and his hearing is a lot lower than what it should be. After discussing options which where: wait it out or get tubes, we voted for tubes. The doctor was very nice and honest and said it didn't look like this problem is taking care of it's self. So Robbie is schedule for tubes in April and hopefully he will be healthy. I feel so bad for this kid, not being able to hear well has got to be so frustrating. I am hoping these tubes will make his life easier.

Sleeping

We had to move the boys upstairs now that the carpet is gone in the basement. Which means that Rob and I are bound to our room or the basement come 8:00. It is hard because I usually use that time to get the dishes done, fold laundry in front of the TV, or just pick up a little. It has also been hard because Robbie has been sick and every time he coughs I hear it. I haven't slept much in the last couple of nights and hope that Robbie will be back to 100% soon. He is starting to feel better but every once in a while that cough shows up.

Tree huggers

They did a good job protecting the fence.

It was a little unnerving watching my dad in the trees. He was a total Monkey.

These two where the best helpers of the bunch. No complaining and they stayed out all day.

Yesterday was spent Cutting down trees, trimming trees and clean up the mess. The kids and I headed out earlier in the morning and got our grow boxes cleaned out, and the dog poop scooped. My dad came to help Rob cut down the unwanted trees. We are so lucky that my dad came because I guarantee that Rob and I couldn't do it. My dad had to climb the trees and then they cut them a little at a time. The boys where great workers again and kept hauling wood. We pretty much filled the dumpster and still have more tree limbs for the bulk clean up next month.

We are all totally exhausted. We didn't make it to church today, I actually didn't get out of bed until 11. I think we are all on the verge of getting sick. I feel horrible and have had a headache all day. Two of the boys have nasty coughs and runny noses. Plus add in how hard we all worked are bodies are sore, sore , sore. I am hoping by taking it easy today, and going to bed early today that we can all get over what ever we have fast.

Zoo Day

The kids had Friday off again so we decided to head to the zoo. We took our good friends with us and had a great time wondering around and seeing the animals. It was a little chilly but we survived and the animals where more active. Kathryn had lots of little helpers to show her the fun animals. It was a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed the outing.

Worker Bees

We got a dumpster for the weekend so that we could get rid of all our construction debris. We started with taking out the carpet and then today we had the boys haul all the garbage from the side of the house. I was so impressed with how hard they worked. I am calling them my little worker bees. We even managed to get all the leaves that we didn't get last fall. We plan on cutting down a few trees tomorrow and trying to get a start on cleaning out the backyard flower beds. I am sure the boys aren't looking forward to tomorrow but hopefully they will keep up the hard work, so we can get things done.

Braids

I have started braiding Kathryn's hair and she loves it! It is so much fun to be able to really play with her hair and try new things.

More sleeping...

I just can't resist taking funny pictures of Kathryn sleeping.

30 Weeks

Here is a 30 week photo of my tummy. I feel like I am starting to get huge! I am glad to say I only have 10 weeks left but I am stressed that I wont get everything done that I need to. My body is really starting to ache after hours of kids, cleaning, and painting the basement. I wish I could take a day off but feel like I can't or it wont be done in time. My house is mostly a disaster area. I do try and clean up every night before bed, but some nights it's just too much and I crawl into bed to wake up with a mess. Hopefully once the basement is done I can relax just a little more often.

Basement Update

Well things are moving a little faster since I returned from Atlanta.

  • Sheetrock done

  • Primer on

  • Bookshelves built

  • TV stand built

  • Tile ordered

Our list is still pretty long but it is amazing how much faster everything is moving along. Still to do, we have:

  • Paint ceilings

  • paint walls

  • trim installed

  • trim painted

  • replace back door

  • tile laid and grouted

  • carpet picked out

  • carpet installed

  • put house back together

So hopefully these things will move a lot faster. I am hoping to be done the beginning of April. Wish us luck.

Insomnia

Ok, so I am having the worst insomnia ever. I am so exhausted after kids, house remodeling and just going to bed to late. Then as I lay in bed wide a wake until 3 am, I am frustrated and annoyed that everyone else (especially Rob) is sound asleep. I am constantly thinking about what needs to get done in the basement, what needs to be done for the kids, and what needs to be done before the baby comes. By the time morning comes around I am so not ready to start my huge list of things to do. I think it is time for a little sleep aid. Hopefully, I will function just a little better after a good nights sleep.

Potty Time

Since getting back from Atlanta we have been hitting potty training hard. We didn't have many diapers so I decided to just go straight to undies. We have only had two accidents this week but still working on it. I am constantly asking if she needs to go potty and taking her when we go anywhere. Hopefully things will keep going smoothly. I am hoping to have her totally potty trained in about two weeks. Wish me luck.

Sleeping

Since coming home from Atlanta Kathryn has had a hard time sleeping. After getting mad and telling her to go to bed we found her sleeping in her rocking chair. Also at Nap time I found her sleeping on her floor instead of her crib. So funny!!
