Day 2 consisted of about a 5 hour drive but made the trip worth to see cousins big smiles when we got to Jen's house. We took it easy and just hung out close to Jen's house. We walked to the little park in their neighborhood and the kids just loved playing together. My mom was nice enough to go and get all the food we would need for the week and when she got back we started dinner and just visited and played all evening. I will say the kids had a hard time sleeping as it was super hot and all the boys tried to cram themselves on Ani's floor. We ended up sending them all downstairs to share the basement with Grandma. The little girls slept in Syd's room and got into a little trouble almost ever night. Emme was easy as can be and stayed with Jen and I.
Day 3 We sent all the older kids with Grandma to join in Uncle Brandan's junior golf league in the morning. They had a great time and really need to get golfing a little more, hopefully next summer they can have lessons. Then we all headed out to the lake. We swam at the sand bar and did a little tubing. This had to be one of my kids favorite things, boating.(okay maybe it is mine) Emme loved the water and had no problems with the life jacket at all. Kathryn had a great time but didn't love the tube. Jen and I got one wild ride on the tube and then called it quits. After boating we went back for burgers and hot dogs. It was a great day!
Day 4 we went to Silverwood Theme Park. We rode a few rides in the morning sending Grandma with the big kids and Jennie and I took the little girls on a few rides. It took Kathryn a little while to warm up to the idea of riding by herself but once she did she loved it. Emme and Sydney where content to just hangout and watch a few rides. We then went tot the water park and it was definitely the favorite activity of the day for all the kids. Emme and Kathryn are fish and just loved being in the water. The boys and Ani where able to just go off on there own so everyone had a fabulous time. I only wish it hadn't started lighting so that Jennie and I could of rode the big roller coaster.
Day 5 was July 13th and My sisters birthday, so we decided to go on a little hike and then head to the beach for the day. The hike was not a whole lot of fun as it was super hot and the little girls kept crying or whining. It was finally great when the two little ones fell asleep and we told Kathryn we where headed to the beach, that really got her moving. The beach was fun and relaxing for the everyone. Nothing like building sandcastles and swimming to keep everyone happy. Then we headed back for dinner and cake.
Day 6 we left the 4 older kids to play at home why we headed out with the littles for lunch and a quick shopping trip. We went to one of our favorite stores, Lucky Monkey and got Jennie a few gifts and I also got a little something for my self and then headed to lunch. After lunch we went out on the boat again but this time we left Jennie and Emme behind. It was a little adventure as it started raining on us, the kids thought it was great.
Day 7 we started the trek back home. We stopped in Butte again swam, had dinner and put the kids to bed early. Day 8 was more driving. I really started getting tired and was so ready to be out of the car and so where the kids. It was a great trip and we are glad we go up and visit the family. We are also super excited to have them move back here, hopefully they can get her soon.
Picture's to come
